MUHAMMAD ﷺ (Messenger of Allah) was the prophet of the Quran, Islam's sacred scripture, and the founder of Islam. From his birth in Mecca about 570 CE through his death in Medina in 632, MUHAMMAD ﷺ spent his whole life preaching Islam in Saudi Arabia. The Quran, viewed as a literal copy of God's (Allah's) voice, was given to MUHAMMAD ﷺ in stages by the archangel Gabriel Amen beginning in 610, according to Islamic tradition. In this article, we will discuss 10 blessings habits of MUHAMMAD ﷺ and their health benefits.
10 blessing habits of Muhammad PBUH |
1. Getting Up Early In the Morning
The MUHAMMAD ﷺ used to get up
very early in the morning, but there is no tradition that He ﷺ ever missed
Tahajjud (night prayer).
§ Today’s scientific research showed that in 24 hours, the time
before sunrise and up to an hour after sunrise is the best time in terms of
health in which you get the opportunity to take maximum oxygen, which is a very
useful process for your healthy life.
2. Eye massage
The Prophet of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) used to rub his eyes
after waking up in the morning.
§ As we know the entire system of the body consists of eleven
systems. It takes 11 to 12 minutes for the system to recover after waking up
from sleep. But if you massage the eyes, this system immediately recovers
within 10 to 15 seconds. SubhanAllah!
3. Stay in bed for a while
After getting out of bed, the
Prophet of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) would sit for a few
moments and recite Surah Ikhlas (Surah in Quran) three times; this took about a
minute to read.
§ Today, medical Science
tells us that there is a capillary in our brain that forms a bridge for blood
from one part to another. In this way, the blood supply to our whole brain is
restored through this bridge from where all our nerves i.e. the whole body have to be controlled.
§ If a person wakes up in the morning and walks suddenly while the
blood supply to the brain has not yet been restored, then this person may have
a brain hemorrhage or may suffer from many other complex problems of the brain which also include sudden paralysis of several parts of the body. Whereas
if he just sits for a minute to restore the blood supply to his brain, many
complex problems can be avoided.
§ It is a regular science and behind this blessed hadith, there is
research by many professors and doctors in which even non-Muslim researchers
have agreed that we should sit in bed for a while after waking up in the
morning according to this Sunnah of MUHAMMAD ﷺ
§ Its advantage is that the mind becomes fully active and able to
fully guide our body. This blessed Sunnah, where there is a great reward, there
is also a great secret of health.
4. Eating fruit before eating
MUHAMMAD ﷺ used to drink fruit before eating.
§ Various fruits contain 90 to 99% water since the Prophet (peace
and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade drinking water after eating while
encouraging drinking water before eating. Therefore, since different fruits
also contain a lot of water, eating them before eating gives energy to the
body, especially the stomach and intestines.
§ Because the stomach and intestines play a significant role in
digestion, this process aids them in improving their effectiveness, as
scientific evidence shows. The nutrients in the fruit are more easily absorbed
when consumed on an empty stomach.
5. Do not Drink
Water after Food
The Messenger of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) never drank water after
eating.
§ The things that have come out from science and research today show that there are so many disadvantages of not following this blessed Sunnah that
it cannot even be imagined.
§ When we drink water after eating, whatever fats are in the food, come out of the food and come to the upper part of the stomach.
§ The rest of the food goes to the small intestine for the second
stage of digestion and thus the fat and protein left in the stomach produce
very harmful gases inside the stomach while mixing it with the food and passing
it to the next part of the digestive system. If we drink water or eat fruit,
they remain in the stomach to ruin our health.
§ A hadith of the Messenger of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) means that if you need
water after eating, just take a few sips and then eat a bite of bread.
§ According to Japanese research, by drinking water after a meal, the
fats that were coming up and you ate the next mouthful, the process of fat
coming up not only ceases but become part of the diet again. That's why
you should never drink water after eating, which not only causes gas, acidity, and indigestion in the stomach but also many heart diseases.
6. To snort
The MUHAMMAD ﷺ had a fortunate
habit of lying down for an hour or 20 to 25 minutes after lunch.
§ The advantage is that in about 68% of people when they eat lunch,
their stomach produces a small amount of a substance similar to alcohol. In
such a case, if a person is walking, he may fall down due to dizziness, or he
may have a hangover-like condition. This is why you always feel a little heavy
after lunch.
§ If we lie down for a while, the alcohol produced will not place as
much strain on the mind and will be more active for the body functions,
allowing us to prevent any type of accident. Apart from this, there is a fear
of many health problems if this Sunnah is not followed.
§ As this has been proven by research today, most countries around
the world have an afternoon break from 1 to 2 or 3 o'clock so that people can
take a nap after lunch.
§ Today, the whole of Europe is practically adopting the Sunnah of
the Messenger of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) and there is a break
from 1 to 3 p.m. in the whole of Europe. They studied and accepted the Sunnah of
the Prophet of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) and have far better
health standards than we have.
7. brushing
MUHAMMAD ﷺ was very fond
of miswak (a piece of special
wood used as a toothbrush) and used to perform ablution five times a day in
every prayer.
·
Apart
from this, when he came home, before attending a gathering, he used to prepare/do
miswak on every occasion and kept
the miswak very dear.
·
What
happens when we eat, some particles of food are definitely left between the
teeth and after an hour of eating, bacteria are produced in them. Bacteria are
responsible for the softening of the particles left in the teeth. We were
instructed to organize Miswak before, going to bed. Otherwise, it may result in
a heart attack.
· An Australian university studied 500 heart attack victims while mentioning other reasons, a prevalent one was that these folks were not used to brushing their teeth, so the jam in their teeth moved into the stomach and raised more so much that it obstructed the arteries of the heart. Even though the Prophet of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) recommended us to brush to such an extent that he declared on one occasion, "If it had not been heavy on the Ummah, I would have made it obligatory on the Ummah."
·
Today's
modern science has proven that people who have a habit of brushing their teeth
or brushing teeth often have less anger and are often calm and cool.
·
A very angry person has high blood pressure, and if he is restless in his
health, he should practice Miswak as much as possible, and within two or
three months, he will discover its incredible miraculous effects.
8. ablution
Muslims perform ablution three to five
times a day for the five obligatory prayers, because there is no prayer without
ablution, and there is no ablution without washing the mouth, nose, hands,
arms, head, and feet.
·
In
ablution, we wash all the external parts of the body that are covered with dirt
and carbon.
·
Today,
scientific investigations show that if parts of the body are coated with dirt
or carbon that are not cleaned and remain on that part of the body for an extended
period, the link between these parts and the brain is impaired
i.e. the body's neurological system weakens. Because they are constantly
sending a message to the brain that something has come on the body and it
should be cleaned.
·
If a
person washes his face in the morning and then comes and washes it in the
evening, the connection between his organs and the mind becomes weak, due to
which he may suffer from many neurological problems later on.
·
Islam
compels you to wash your private parts three to five times a day, and on
Fridays, it requires you to clean your body completely, including the trimming
of nails and removing unwanted hair from your genital area
and armpits. A Friday bath is required for every Muslim.
·
The
Messenger of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) has not only ordered to
do this, but it is also part of his blessed Sunnah.
9. sleep early
Another blessed habit of the Prophet
(MUHAMMAD ﷺ) was that he used to go
to bed early at night. Usually, he would go to sleep immediately after Isha's prayer. i.e., going to bed early at night and waking up early in the morning
was part of his routine.
·
Our
biological clock, which regulates our entire body system, when it sees darkness
outside, gives the signal to your body to sleep. It gives the body one and a
half to two hours to prepare.
·
The
benefit of this is that a doctor awakens inside your body, under the biological
watch that monitors your complete body. If a wound exists, he will mend it. It
will work on any challenging problem in the liver or any other organ.
·
Rather,
after sleeping, the liver is the first thing to work on, and for those who are
liver patients, there is also this opinion, that when they are treating themselves,
they should improve their sleep system and the doctor of their body.
·
Allow
the treatment to work and then observe the effects.
·
From
10 pm to 12 pm, the maintenance of the liver and its surrounding organs takes
place and after that, the maintenance of the whole body gradually takes place
and this process is done daily.
·
Allah
Almighty has placed an automatic system in your body and this system works when
you adopt the habit of sleeping early.
·
In
the days of ignorance, it was customary for Arabs to assemble after dinner for
gatherings of poetry and Dev Malay stories that lasted until two o'clock at
night, and it was in this setting that the Prophet (peace and blessings of
Allah be upon him) went to bed early which was a dubious practice for
Arabs.
·
It
was an age of ignorance, but today, even among Muslims who claim to be in the
modern age, staying up late is not only considered objectionable. However, it
is also known to be proud to some extent. The age of ignorance has given way to
the age of modern internet and satellite technology.
·
But
sleeping early was in their routine of MUHAMMAD ﷺ because he knew
the usefulness of internal medicine and this is the reason why MUHAMMAD ﷺ did not get seriously
ill in his entire blessed life.
10. Fasting Two
Days a Week
Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays was
also part of MUHAMMAD ﷺ practice, and he
encouraged his followers to observe these fasts i.e. fast twice a week.
·
The
beautiful statement of the Prophet of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ), is that a Muslim feeds
in one stomach. At the same time, a disbeliever eats in three, and he recommended that we eat food when we are starving and leave it if we are still hungry
meaning that doesn't fill our stomach. This process is called "Autophagy"
in modern medical language.
·
This
is the great secret of keeping the human body healthy.
·
What
happens is that when we eat more food than we normally need, extra proteins and
fats accumulate in the body, which plays the role of poison in digestion due to
excess of the body's needs and causes various diseases.
·
These
additional fats are the primary cause of today's chronic ailments such as
diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.
·
When
you feel hungry, the body's hunger juices i.e. the automatic system of
digesting food in the body are fully developed.
·
If
we were to eat 50 bites but stopped at 35, then the remaining 15 bites that the
body needed, the body fulfills that need by eating these extra proteins and
fats.
·
The
body keeps eliminating accumulated toxins under its own automatic system and
you stay healthy.
·
Now when
there has been some shortcoming for three days and you have fasted on Monday,
due to the long fast of the whole day, the process of autophagy gets a full
opportunity to be active and it repairs the shortcoming of three days, then two
daily routines and then fast on Thursday.
·
When
this Sunnah of the Prophet (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) becomes a part of your
routine, the process of disease-causing cell autophagy, repeated twice a week,
cannot accumulate and you remain healthy forever.
The fact is that science lags far
behind the Sunnahs of Allah's Messenger (MUHAMMAD ﷺ) and the entire life of
the Prophet (MUHAMMAD ﷺ). The Sunnahs are a
torch for us, and they contain the successes and comforts of this world and the
hereafter.
(O Muslims!) There is an excellent example for
you in the life of the Messenger of Allah (MUHAMMAD ﷺ).
